Ahead of the opening of NewCare’s latest addition to their increasing portfolio of homes, care teams at Formby Manor recently trained in use of Dechoker.
Set in the coastal town of Formby near Liverpool, the purpose-built 76 bed ‘new generation’ care facility will provides the highest standards of safety, comfort and care, offering residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.
Formby Manor becomes the latest of the NewCare homes to deploy Dechoker to help protect both their staff and residents, something that has been standard across group since late 2016
One of their early NewCare homes in Sale, Greater Manchester was the location of the UK’s first use of Dechoker back in April last year.
Since then, Dechoker has gone on to be used nearly 30 times across multiple adult care providers in a variety of choking situations.
‘It’s always a pleasure to pay a visit to any NewCare home.’ said Matt Oakley, CEO of Dechoker UK. ‘The NewCare management team were early to spot the benefits of Dechoker, a decision that has since gone on to be proven to be worthwhile on more than one occasion.’
