Earlier this week, the care team a St Michael’s Homes in Brentwood undertook their Dechoker training in the gorgeous setting of Dudbrook Hall.

The building dates back to the 1602 and now provides nursing and residential care for over 40 residents including those with dementia.

Nearby, and part of the same group, is Howard Lodge which provides nursing and personal care, for residents with dementia, physical disabilities and sensory impairments.

Dudbrook Hall was used by that RAF during WW2

Situated near the Kelvedon Hatch not so secret nuclear bunker, both homes are surrounded by fields and accessed via winding roads which adds to the peaceful surroundings.

Care staff completed their training and have now deployed Dechoker devices to be used in the event of a choking emergency.
